Wondering bout new Civil War book.

Wondering bout new Civil War book.

Postby Keji » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:20 am

I'm tempted to buy it, but was wondering if it contains any player/gm stuff, like new rules, content, powers or anything as such?

I'm well aware that the base book covers pretty much anything out there, but I'm not really sure how interested I am in spending money on additional canon datafiles(we play original characters.)

Doubt we will see there any total new game mechanics, maybe some new ideas on SFXs and Limits within the datafiles.
Disagreeing with this post just adds a die to the doom pool!

Exactly.

Any new datafile is potential fodder for the imagination beast when creating original datafiles.

That alone would be worth the price of admition for me.

But having a full blown event as reference for ideas for creating original events is also something I'm really looking forward to.

Not only these points, but like the recent Thor DLC demonstrated, new ideas (like nabbing Mjolnir) are bound to pop up in main text or as sidebars. While I plan on running a CW-esque event, it's really more the stuff that makes up the whole (rather than the whole) that made the money fall out of my wallet.

There is new content in the Event Book about troupe-style play, using Scene Distinctions and complications, and so on. It's also a great example of how to lay out an Event, moreso than the Breakout mini-event. And yes, lots and lots and lots of datafiles.

Cheers,
